VPO Jerez de la Frontera. Freedom

Public competition for the promotion of Official Protection Housing. Plot located on Avenida Libertad, s/n. Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz)

The building that we propose aims to respond to all current regulations, but without losing the primary objective, which is to create decent homes while generating a living, current and functional architecture that enriches its environment.

The idea behind the design of the building is to achieve the maximum number of two- and three-bedroom homes (215), which have the best lighting, ventilation and privacy conditions, giving rise to the idea of a gallery patio, reducing the vertical communication cores to 6 for 215 homes, which also means a significant reduction in costs. This distribution facilitates cross ventilation in the homes, as well as having natural lighting in all the living rooms.

The layout of the building on the site marks two clearly differentiated areas of action, a linear L-shaped block on the south and west boundaries, with three vertical communication cores with access through distribution galleries, where the houses have lighting and ventilation. on both façades, and where to achieve the privacy required by future tenants, the gallery has been separated from the interior façade, leaving only access bridges to the houses, and where, in addition to having a double façade, the main living and rest rooms They do not need to open onto said gallery, but only service pieces, clotheslines...

And on the northern border, responding to the alignment of the curved façade, there is a double linear block  with an open interior patio, with three vertical circulation cores, and distribution walkways every 4 or 5 homes. per plant max.
