Ship Port of Santa Maria

Industrial warehouse project in Salinas de Poniente.

Plots 242 and 243. Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz)

The project is located in Puerto de Santa María, in an area of salt flats, it consists of two symmetrical naves two stories high.

Externally, the building tries to achieve a current image and at the same time seeks to differentiate the two fundamental uses, giving the storage area a more industrial appearance, through an exterior coating based on corrugated sheet metal, while in the commercial-office area, the exposed concrete aims to give a more habitable and comfortable appearance. On the other hand, the color elements bring the two volumetric pieces together, thus seeking an original image.

Functionally, the building tries to promote the use of sales, to which the storage area and the offices are linked, which are accessed through the vertical communication core attached to the main entrance to the shopping area. In all three uses, open spaces have been sought that facilitate activity while enhancing natural lighting.

Regarding the formal aspect, the arrangement of the two volumes seeks to achieve a side street that widens at the end, just in front of the storage area, to facilitate loading and unloading.
