Calatrava 26-28
Dwellings and parkings reform project
26-28 Calatrava street, Sevilla
The building that we are going to reform is located on an irregular plot, with a the façade oriented to Caltrava street. It is a D listed building.
Our proposal comes from the consideration of the architectural and patrimonial construction values, keeping or reconstructing what we consider relevant, like the façade and the first "crujía" that surround the access areas.
Regarding the interior distributions, we propose a new floor that harbours dwellings with the proper dimensions as defined in the current standards, and illuminated and ventilated properly.
We intend to keep all of the elements that we consider characteristic of the typology that it represents, which, despite all of the reforms it has been through, are still relevant and define this style of courtyard houses.
Due to technical causes we suggest replacing part of the building, keeping all of the most significan elements in their original use, form and location but improving the construction and ensuring a stronge and effective construction for the aim we propose (residential multi-family building).
An adaptation to the present way of life is needed, but keeping the original building´smost significant concepts. We propose a residential building with two bedroom dwellings, access from the interior distribution gallery and two obvious shared areas.
